Plaistow Primary School and Children’s Centre is situated in the Plaistow North Ward of Newham. We are two-form entry school with a Nursery that opened in 2002 with the Children's Centre opening in 2009. Each class has no more than 30 children and the current school role is approximately 440 pupils.
Our school, like Newham itself, is diverse, multicultural and inclusive. Pupils and staff at Plaistow come from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. 71% of our pupils are bi-lingual and there are currently 28 different languages spoken within our school community.
Plaistow has 16 bright, airy classrooms and a well-equipped Nursery unit. We have a large hall and in addition to a purpose-built ICT suite, pupils have access to class sets of Chromebooks.
Our school grounds consist of a large playground, a purpose-built ball court and a grassed area with climbing equipment and an activity trail. We are lucky to have a large wooded area for Forest School learning as well as a pond which hosts fish, visiting ducks and even a heron!
We are extremely proud of our school and look forward to showing you around soon.
