At Plaistow we are doing everything we can to ensure that our school is a safe place for our pupils and staff.
After such a long time off school over the Spring and Summer of 2020, we believe that pupils should be in school everyday in order for them to catch up on missed learning, make accelerated progress and spend time talking, playing and having fun with their friends. Face-to-face teaching supports children to learn collaboratively and develop social skills.
If you would like to see a copy of our full risk assessment, please contact the school office. Click the link below for an overview of the safety measures we have put in place this academic year.
We ask that all visitors to the school wear a face covering unless exempt due to a medical condition. Face coverings must also be worn by parents when dropping off and collecting children.
Bubble Closures and Self-Isolation
We recognise that there may be times where pupils must self-isolate with their families at home. Alternatively, if there is a confirmed case of Covid-19 at school, a bubble may be forced to close. In these instances, we have put in place systems and structures so that pupils can continue their learning journey and access our broad and balanced curriculum remotely from home.
We are following guidance from the Education Endowment Foundation in our approach to Home Learning. Click here for more information.
Our Home Learning on Seesaw is of a very high quality. We plan sequences of learning based on our medium term plans and teaching is, to the best of our ability, closely linked to what would normally be taking place if pupils were physically inside the classroom.
We plan sequences of learning following the following structure based on EEF research: Activate, Explain, Practice, Reflect, Review.
